Now, this is a detailed review of the Acer n311 Pocket PC, and as usual, it’s from TrustedReviews. On the whole, the review is a pretty positive one, though there are a few flaws that stand out.

Among the things said of the Acer n311 is that, “The Acer then is a good choice as a connected, quality PDA that literally won’t burst your pocket. It’s certainly the best PDA we’ve seen from Acer. We would have liked to have seen a faster CPU and a better graphics chip in it but as long as you aren’t planning on watching a lot of video on it, it’s a good choice.”

Overall, TrustedReviews concludes that, “The n311 is an attractively small and light PDA, dominated by a large good quality VGA screen. It’s not the fastest PDA on the block though, and video playback can suffer but for the vast majority of tasks this is a good machine.”

2nd Acer n311 Windows Mobile Pocket PC Review

Short but sweet is the description I’d give for PC Advisor’s recent review of the Acer n311 Windows Mobile Pocket PC. While it doesn’t seem to be as detailed as the one by PC Pro (it’s about the same really), it does highlight the n311’s single-click landscape mode. Apparently, watching widescreen movies and viewing Excel spreadsheets become much more enjoyable tasks with the feature.

Overall, PC Advisor concludes that, “This is about as good a PDA as you’re likely to see, but is it worth £300? BlackBerry fans will point to the lack of phone capability, and playing movies is ambitious with only 128MB. Nonetheless, the Acer n311 is beautiful to look at, easy to use and full of excellent features. We want one.”

Acer Ferrari 4005WLMi Notebook Picture

This review of the Acer Ferrari 4005WLMi by X-bit Labs has not only the honour of being the first ever 5th review of a particular notebook model on The Acer Blog, but also one of the few reviews to have a page long (non-technical) introduction of the notebook.

But of course, even the most detailed of reviews come to an end. This review concludes with, “Like any premium model, the notebook boasts high performance, wide communicational capabilities, and superb functionality with all sorts of connectors, ports and interfaces you may want to have. You can perform any task on it, but get ready to be always in the focus of attention as this machine will certainly attract other people’s amazed stares. The single drawback of this model is its high price, but it would be ridiculous for a Ferrari to be cheap, don’t you think?”

The revenge of the Acer Aspires continues with a CNET review of the Acer Aspire 9504WSMi notebook. Like the previous two reviews by PC World and TrustedReviews, this review accords the Aspire 9504WSMi a solid rating - which, in this case, is a 7.1 out of 10.

According to CNET, the 9504WSMi’s strong points include its relatively low price, built-in TV tuner, ability to play audio and video without booting up, slot-loading capability, double-layer DVD burner, wide range of connections and of course, solid performance, while its weak points are the limited tech-support hours and relatively low screen resolution. Overall, CNET concludes that, “The fully equipped, multimedia-minded Acer Aspire 9500 gives pricey, entertainment-focused desktop replacements a serious run for their money.

2nd Acer Aspire 5672WLMi Review

PC Authority’s review of the Acer Aspire 5672WLMi comes right after the one published by NotebookReview.com less than a month ago. But even with the lag in time, this review by PC Authority is as favourable to Acer as NotebookReview.com’s was.

An overall rating of Very Good (5/6) was assigned to the 5672WLMi, with a couple of conclusions:

Battery life was modest, varying from one-and-a half hours to two hours 22 minutes in our intensive use and light use tests respectively. Its 3kg weight also slightly limits portability. But all in all, it’s an attractive system and great value at $2532. However, it only just nudged ahead on the Samsung due to its screen, so check out the R65 before you buy.

What it lacks in 3D performance it more than makes up in features, power and downright value.

Common among both reviews is praise for the superb performance and robust feature set, but some apprehension over the relatively short battery life and weight.

3rd Acer Ferrari F-20 LCD Monitor Review

Just like in PC Pro’s recent favourable review of the Acer Ferrari F-20 LCD monitor, PC Advisor declares the F-20 “…a quality purchase that won’t disappoint…” in their “>own review of the impressive monitor.

Apparently, PC Advisor had initially thought of the Acer Ferrari F-20 as a “…high-concept case of style over substance…” but were (happily) proven wrong when they inspected the monitor first hand. Overall, the reviewers gave the F-20 scores of 9/10 for both build quality and features, as well as a 7/10 for value for money.

And so ends another favourable review of the Acer Ferrari F-20. Undoubtedly, we’re not going to see any negative reviews of this screen anytime soon, if at all.

2nd Acer Ferrari F-20 LCD Monitor Review

We had the first Acer Ferrari F-20 LCD monitor review more than a month back, but it seems that the stylish screen still attracts tech-lover attention. It is now PC Pro with a rather favourable review of the Ferrari F-20, which they conclude as, “A superb screen that excelled in our tests, but you can get the same performance for less.”

This conclusion stems from the fact that, while the Ferrari F-20 comes with impressive specifications, you could get the comparable Acer AL2032WA for £82 less (at the time of review). And according to PC Pro, that £82 could very well be used to procure a digital TV tuner. But of course, they admit that the “sheer impact” of the screen could very well be worth the £82.
