26-inch Acer AL2616W LCD Screen Introduced
Last, but definitely not least of the three new LCD screens recently introduced by Acer is the 26″ Acer AL2616W. Like the smaller AL2216W we featured earlier, this screen will come under Acer’s budget Value Line – which is a good thing for those among you looking for more virtual real estate on the cheap.
It will come with a 1920 x 1200 native resolution, which is a bit lower than it could have been – especially given the fact that the smaller 24″ AL2423W will comes with 1920 x 1200 as well. Nevertheless, with a 1000:1 contrast ratio, a brightness setting of 500cd/m2, and analogue D-sub and DVI-D inputs, it’s still a solid LCD screen.
Of course, like the 22″ AL2216W, the AL2616W will also be upgraded with HDCP and HDTV compatability a few months from now. So, unless the non-HDCP-supporting version is going to come with some sort of discount, there’s really no need to rush to the stores. Besides, we don’t even know how much this 26-incher will cost yet, as Acer has not revealed any pricing info.
