2nd Acer TravelMate 3012TMi Review
IT Reviews comes out with a review of the Acer TravelMate 3010 series. But in the review, the exact notebook model they reviewed wasn’t published, so I’ll assume they reviewed the Acer TravelMate 3012TMi. There isn’t much of a difference between the various 3010 models anyway.
Now, back to the review itself. IT Reviews found the TravelMate 3012TMi to be just the average laptop after identifying two key problems with the TM3012TMi. One: The Acer Empowering software, which not only adds a layer of unnecessary complexity, but is also a source of irritation. Two: Acer’s substandard screen. We’ve actually talked about this already in a comparison between Acer and Asus a few weeks back.
Overall, IT Reviews concludes that, “If all you’re looking for is speed and a long battery life then the Acer is for you. But if you’re looking for something with a little bit more then bide your time. The model we reviewed needs to have the rough edges taken off. If Acer manages to do that, this will hopefully become a killer laptop.”
