Reviews

  1. bit-tech.net reviews the Acer Ferrari F-20 LCD Monitor. I’ll not paraphrase simply because I’ll not do the reviewer’s words justice: “It’s not all that often that we get such a blatant object of desire in to the bit-tech labs. This week, we’ve been fortunate enough to have two: the Alienware Aurora 7500 we reviewed on Wednesday, and this, possibly the best-looking LCD monitor on the face of the planet.”

bit-tech.net then concludes with, “The Acer Ferrari F20 is undeniably a gorgeous monitor. It performs well, and the addition of a TV tuner makes it more flexible than your average LCD monitor. It’s not as cheap as some competing displays, but the good looks and the badge on the front more than make up for this. Overall, it will make a well-performing, great-looking addition to the desktop of any style-conscious bit-tech reader. We can’t give it an award for Best Value or Total Excellence, but it certainly is one hot piece of hardware.”

  2. We had the first Acer Ferrari F-20 LCD monitor review more than a month back, but it seems that the stylish screen still attracts tech-lover attention. It is now PC Pro with a rather favourable review of the Ferrari F-20, which they conclude as, “A superb screen that excelled in our tests, but you can get the same performance for less.”

This conclusion stems from the fact that, while the Ferrari F-20 comes with impressive specifications, you could get the comparable Acer AL2032WA for £82 less (at the time of review). And according to PC Pro, that £82 could very well be used to procure a digital TV tuner. But of course, they admit that the “sheer impact” of the screen could very well be worth the £82.

News

A Ferrari LCD Monitor comes our way, and it is a 20-incher. Besides the standard CrystalBrite technology Acer plants into all their monitors, “The Ferrari F-20 LCD monitor, designed by Acer, supports resolutions of up to 1680 x 1050 pixels combined with excellent color saturation and perfectly sharp images. Furthermore, the Ferrari F-20 monitor is extremely versatile and highly performing, with 8ms response rates, and 800:1 contrast ratios, providing highly detailed images that are ideal for heavy-duty data applications. The Ferrari LCD line of products guarantees professional users the security of long-term performance, quality design, and excellent ergonomics.”
