Acer In The Middle East

We have heard quite a bit on the Middle East front from Acer, with plans for an Acer-Saudi desktop production facility being the most recent example. So, a news piece on Acer’s future activities in the Middle East should only help to flesh things out.

As I can see, the Middle East will be looking at entry to mid-level Acer desktops in the near future:

ICT 2006 will witness the Egyptian launch of Acer’s latest commercial desktop range, the Veriton 800 series

Which is really not dissimilar to how the Acer-India front will probably develop in the next few months. Just look at the recent introduction of the AcerPower Entra in India - a budget desktop that is claimed to be among the cheapest brand-name desktops there.

After all, desktops are the bread and butter of all PC makers out there, and Acer is no exception. This is especially so for developing markets with relatively low PC penetration rates (like the Middle East and India).
