Acer’s 32-incher - the AT3205-DTV - is out, equipped with dual TV tuners (one digital, one analogue) and HD-support. With a 1366×768 resolution plus 720p support, the Acer AT3205-DTV will actually pull its weight when you need to use its HD-support (unlike its 42-inch plasma sister).

Of course, that’s not all. The AT3205 comes with both HDMI and DVI connectivity, plus the recently discussed Empowering Technology.

But apparently, it’ll only be available for order early next month. So, if you’re in the market for a 32-incher, start preparing to drain £900 from your account.

The Australians got these big gizmos a month back, but Acer’s AT-3700 series LCD TVs have only recently been launched in the Middle East. For those who have forgotten, the AT-3700 series primarily consists of two models: The Acer AT-3705 and the AT-3705MGW.

While both models are 37-inchers that are competitive with Dell’s 37″ W3706MC LCD TV, only the AT-3705MGW comes with a built-in media gateway. Acer’s AT-3700 series LCD TVs will retail at AED 7,999.

Acer AT3705 and AT3705MGW Introduced

Acer hinted at these 37-inchers around 3 weeks back, but only now do we have the official introduction of Acer’s new LCD TVs - bigger and perhaps better than Acer’s previous models (e.g. the 32″ Acer AT3201W). Both models are identical except for the media gateway built into the AT3705MGW.

We’re talking about 37″ equppied with dual TV tuners (analog and digital) and a media gateway on the AT3705MGW. At around US$2,727 (est. from AUD equivalent), the media gateway model is competitive with Dell’s 37″ W3706MC LCD TV, even if Dell’s promotional discounts seem to give it an edge. In fact, even that advantage should be nullified when retailer discounts on the Acer models come into the picture. And let’s not forget that the Dell does not come with a built-in media gateway.

Acer: A 2000 LCD TV Per Month Aim

Tuesday, January 24th, 2006

Digitimes reports that Acer is expecting its monthly LCD TV sales to reach 2,000 units this year. That would be a 300-400% increase from 2005’s 600-700 a month sales. But personally, what’s really interesting in that news release is the possiblity of “…a new 37-inch LCD TV model in February.”
